The Kotzer family, the Casino Hotel’s owners, chose to design their building in the attractive and historic style of the great paddlewheelers that traveled the Fraser River, one of the great waterways of BC, from the 1860s to the 1920s.

The Casino Hotel is named for Billy Barker, whose discovery of gold in 1862 intensified the Cariboo Gold Rush and drew tens of thousands of fortune seekers from around the world. Guests enjoy 40 newly upgraded and renovated rooms, each one with a heritage décor all its own. Your room will be graced with unique antique furniture collected from around British Columbia.

The hotel’s attractive and comfortable heritage look continues in the 6000 square foot casino, open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.,. Friday and Saturday. Restore your energies with a wonderful, hearty meal at the Restaurant, a consistently busy and happening hangout for visitors and locals from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
