Quesnel
Quesnel is the beautiful central service area for
the North Cariboo. You’ll enjoy our perfect combination
of rural charm and quiet city sophistication.
The Gateway to the North Cariboo offers unlimited recreational
opportunities. Enjoy world-class fly fishing and canoeing,
take a stroll along the beautiful, relaxing Riverfront Trail, golf
one of our three courses, or swim in one of many lakes, or at
the pool at the Arts and Recreation Centre. Go downhill or
cross-country skiing, horseback riding, snow shoeing, river
rafting, hiking, or biking.
The area includes a number of scenic driving tours or, for a breathtaking,
panoramic view just seven minutes from downtown, visit Pinnacles
Provincial Park.
Quesnel is the proud home to one of the ten best community museums
in BC, the Quesnel and District Museum and Archives. We also
have an Antique Machinery Park. Heritage buildings include
the Hudson's Bay Building, now a gift shop full of local treasures. Our
downtown core, two shopping malls, and lovely home-based shops also
offer excellent shopping. Another local highlight is the Billy
Barker Casino Hotel, a gaming establishment, hotel, and restaurant
with a paddlewheel boat façade.
