Nazko

The Nazko Valley is within the traditional territory of the Carrier First Nations people. Come visit our beautiful rivers and lakes, vast forests and mountains and fresh air. This is where fishing is at its best.

The Blackwater River, located nearby, is one of the best dry fly fisheries in North America. This 140 mile river is free of crowds and has abundant native Rainbow Trout. Experienced fishing and hunting guides are available to take you on a fabulous adventure.

This area is also noted for the world famous Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail (the Grease Trail), an 8000 year old trail that was originally used as a trading route by First Nations people. Alexander Mackenzie came across the trail in 1793.

For the hiking enthusiast, the Nazko Valley offers experiences found nowhere else on the planet. It offers great campsites, spectacular scenery, abundant lakes and a relaxing time.  Enjoy canoeing in one of the area’s three Provincial Parks for an unforgettable experience.
